Our Priorities

• First and foremost, delivering customer service to Investigators is the Board’s top priority.

• For the EBIRE Board this means the following:

• Timely response to inquiries
• Timely, consistent and accurate financial reports to investigators
• Efficient processing of payment requests
• Transparency in information sharing

• Equally important, EBIRE aims to support investigators by providing the necessary infrastructure to conduct research, including:

• INDIRECT Effort. Supports multiple projects & does not vary substantially across activities.

• For federal awards EBIRE’s indirect (facilities & administration or “F&A”) rate is currently negotiated at 27%, pending an increase to 40%.
• For all other grants the board-approved rate is 40%. E.g. administrative wages & fringe, insurance, NAVREF, 501(c)(3) reporting & audit req’s, active profiles for Grants.gov, eBRAP, eRA Commons, SAM.gov, & FWA.

• DIRECT Effort. Supports effort directly to the specific project.

• E.g. research wages & fringe, research-related regulatory activities, equipment & supplies, & sponsor reporting.
• We seek opportunities that allow investigators to conduct patient-orientated research.
• We strive to develop collaborative relationships with individuals, groups, and research communities.
• We believe that an important aspect of success is diversity. EBIRE is committed to providing a work environment free of harassment, disrespectful, or other unprofessional conduct.
