me Brain and Language Lab
Tinnitus and hearing loss are the two most common service-connected disorders of Veterans. Scientifically, there is a lot we still don't understand about the interaction of hearing, language and memory.

At the Brain and Language Lab, we study how brain dysfunction impacts language and hearing with a focus on the relationship between language and memory. Our approach is based on the idea that a better understanding of the neural underpinnings of language and memory will guide rehabilitation efforts and that addressing hearing deficits can improve memory and daily function and that improving memory can help with day-to-day hearing.

We are currently running studies on Traumatic Brain Injury, Auditory Working Memory, Hearing and Tinnitus.

Research is supported by Rehabiliation Research and Development Grant 1IK2RX000974.
