Sasha Best, PhD.

Clinical Psychologist

Professional Interests

My primary clinical interests include the relationships among cognition, emotion and behavior that promote health and positive change, as seen in a number of concerns facing veterans and active duty service members: post-deployment readjustment, chronic pain, trauma, sleep problems, substance use, family communication, and difficulties with attention, memory and mood.

My research interests include biological, cognitive and emotional factors that confer resilience or place individuals at increased risk for poor outcomes, especially in co-occurring mTBI and PTSD, but also in other anxiety and mood disorders, during recovery from brain injury or stroke, and with aging. I am interested in assessing current therapies and developing new treatments to optimize recovery.
